This extension is not available on the Chrome Web Store and must be installed manually in developer mode. This is a safe and fully reversible process.

Step 1

Download and extract the file

Download the .zip file

Save the extension ZIP file to your computer — for example on your Desktop or in your Downloads folder.

Extract the file

Windows: right-click → “Extract All”.  macOS: double-click the ZIP file. A folder containing all extension files will be created.

⚠️

Do not delete or move the extracted folder after installation. If you do, the extension will stop working.

Step 2

Open Chrome Extensions page

Open Google Chrome

Launch the Chrome browser on your computer.

Go to the Extensions settings

In the address bar, type chrome://extensions and press Enter.

Alternatively

Click the ⋮ menu (three dots) in the top right → Extensions → Manage Extensions.

Step 3

Enable Developer Mode

Find the toggle

On the Extensions page, in the top right corner, you will find the Developer mode toggle switch.

Turn it on

Click the toggle to turn it ON (it will turn blue). Three new buttons will appear.

ℹ️

Developer mode is a standard Chrome feature. It does not pose any security risks.

Step 4

Load the extension

Click “Load unpacked”

A folder selection window will open.

Select the extracted folder

Navigate to the folder from Step 1. Select the main folder — the one that contains the manifest.json file — not the individual files inside it.

Confirm

Click “Select Folder” (Windows) or “Open” (macOS). The extension will appear in the list.

Step 5

Verify the installation

Check the extensions list

In chrome://extensions you should see Taiwa with its toggle turned on (blue).

Icon in the toolbar

Click the 🧩 icon in the top right to verify that “Taiwa” is visible. You can pin it to the toolbar by clicking 📌.

Try it on Facebook

Go to www.facebook.com and scroll through your feed. On verified source posts, the button “ℹ️ More information” will appear.

If you see the button on posts, the installation was successful!

Common issues
The extension does not appear in the list
Make sure you selected the correct folder — the one containing the manifest.json file, not the original ZIP file.
Error: “Invalid manifest”
The ZIP file may be corrupted or incomplete. Download the file again and repeat the process from the beginning.
The extension is listed but does not work on Facebook
Try reloading the Facebook page. If the problem persists, go to chrome://extensions, toggle the extension off and back on.
Chrome shows “Extension not from Chrome Web Store”
This warning is normal for manually installed extensions. Click Keep to continue. The extension is safe.
How to uninstall
  • Go to chrome://extensions
  • Find Taiwa
  • Click “Remove”
  • Confirm the removal
  • You can then delete the extracted folder
